Right so I finally got around to putting together another EVE Online wallpaper.
This time I tried recreating the paint job of the Gallente Heavy Interdictor – The Phobos.
Here’s the backstory as to how it came into my possession.
I acquired this baby from one of my contacts at Roden Shipyards.
This is the original Phobos prototype.
Unlike the production model that has guns this one has been optimised for Heavy Assault Missile Launchers.
Amazing how ships like this are just sitting in hangers collecting dust :p
I did all posing and such in Garry’s Mod, post production in Photoshop, and logos were re-vectored in Illustrator.

Hey, can you tell me where I can find the phobos texture in the “res” folder? I have looked up and down for it everywhere and I still can’t find it.

The actual model and texture in the Gmod pack was a bog standard Thorax with none of the shininess of EVE.
I had to paint over the image in Photoshop using a few Thorax images as reference.

I kinda thought that would have to be the case, i’ve googled the same question but haven’t found a single result. I’ll have to do the same then, thankyou for replying though, I do appreciate it. The wallpaper is fantastic.
