Photography – Fire Shenanigans

I took this photo a while ago but on that day I was bored and wanted to try something different.
So I requisitioned some matches and proceeded to try and capture the moment a match ignites.
The setup was very simple: The camera was setup on a tripod pre-focused in drive mode and with remote trigger. The matches were soaked in alcohol so they could lit like a fuse providing time to get ready to trigger the camera's shutter via remote.
Of course this was all down to good timing which ment I went through many matches to get a half decent shot...
Drop us a comment and as usual high res version is on my deviantArt site here.
Yeerabi Pond Sunset

This one's from the vault I took this a while ago on the way to a family friend's home, we had to drop by another friend on the way to give gifts of some sort.
While waiting in the car I noticed the beautiful sunset by the pond, so with camera in hand I popped down to the waterfront and took a few snaps.
Stitched together in Photoshop CS5 which seems to have a much improved Photomerge algorithm compared to CS3.
Photograph[s] were completely unedited.
Big version on my deviantArt site here.
Enjoy!
Photo: Fuse

Because I'm lazy here's the blurb that I wrote on DeviantArt.
Took this a few days ago. This is actually the fuse panel at home.
Minimal adjustments to exposure, everything else was set in camera, shot as is in near darkness at 800 ISO and f/1.7.
Hope ya'll enjoy it!
Larger version is on my DeviantArt site here.
Floriade In 360

So going to Floriade a week or so ago I decided to test out my new Sigma 10-20mm Ultra Wide lens coupled with my K-7 and this is the 360 degree photo I ended up with.
I took it during closing time so the sun wasn't very high up in the sky.
For the high res version feel free to grab it from my deviantart site.
Enjoy!
The K-7 Has Landed (At least for me it has)
I finally recieved my Pentax K-7 DSLR today after missing the original delivery yesterday by one hour and having to reschedule for delivery to be reattempted.
Well without further ado here's the Pentax K-7 in all its un-boxing glory.
Finally:
Well that's all from me for now I'll stick photos taken with the camera later
All photos were taken with my old K100D Super.
