Hatsune Miku Good Smile Version Re-shoot

Hatsune Miku 3In light of my recent shoot of Teana and Mari, I have been motivated to re-shoot my whole figurine collection. What initially sparked this idea was when I was reorganising my figurine photographs and stumbled onto my old photographs. Needless to say they were pretty woeful. After seeing those photographs, I felt rather ashamed that I could not do the figurines justice at that time. Therefore, I have decided to do this re-shoot project to see if, with my current skills, I could photograph them in a better light (no pun intended).

Below is the first set of what I hope to be many: Yamaha’s Hatsune Miku by Good Smile Company. Enjoy!

Update: Re-uploaded 1-4. I was not happy with some of the processing. »Read More

Another Figure Shoot

Teana Lanster Alter 2I recently borrowed Lardman’s Teana Lanster (Alter version) for a shoot that was supposed to be for a forum photography competition. Unfortunately, I could not get the shot I wanted and get it all post processed in time. It was interesting trying to photograph her. There were some good shots and some pretty terrible ones. Otherwise, it turned out quite well.

In other news, I finally picked up my Makinami Mari Illustrious figurine (Max Factory version) from the post office. She stands a little under 30cm and is one of my larger (taller) figurines. Clad in a pink plug suit and donning and eager look on her face, she is ready to pount some Angels into dust.

Anyway I did a shoot with both figurines, I hope you enjoy the photos!

Works of fire [Skyfire 2011]

IMGP3693

Went to Skyfire 2011 last weekend, a bit peeved that I missed the F-18s. Having spent a good amount of time looking for a park, I settled for a spot at Old Parliament House. Unfortunately, I had to run all the way to the National Library arriving barely time to setup for the fireworks. Here are the photos that I was happy with, enjoy!

Civic GLBT Protest

Last weekend I went out to Civic to cover a GLBT protest addressing the issue of same-sex marriages. It was a hot day, the sun was blinding but overall the event produced some really nice photographs. Here are the fruits of my labour:

The turn out was good. There were lots of people, lots of fire and passion from the attendees. I look forward to covering more protests in the future.
